Feel great at Brockville Operatic Society fundraiser

Theatre and beauty have always seemed to go hand in hand. In South Pacific they sing about ‘washing that man right out of my hair’, whilst in West Side Story, Maria sings about ‘feeling oh so pretty’. So the Brockville Operatic Society have decided to embrace this theme further and hold a wellness and beauty day as a fundraising event for their 60th anniversary production in 2012. In partnership with the owner of Beauty Inside – Healing Arts & Esthetics – Terry-Ann Hare, the society will be holding a ‘Wellness Carousel’ spa event on Saturday 24th September 2011 at Kincaid Place.

“I am so happy to be working with the Operatic Society for this event”, says Terry-Ann Hare. “This will be a great experience for the ladies and gentlemen of Leeds and Grenville to come and try a new wellness or beauty treatment that they may never have tried before, or to indulge themselves with a favourite repeat spa treatment. It will also be the first anniversary of Beauty Inside – Healing Arts & Esthetics. “The perfect way to celebrate a birthday, working with the Operatic Society and introducing new therapies”, continues Terry-Ann.

The event will cost $50 (with a $20 tax receipt being issued on the day) to attend and for that you will receive either 1 x 30 minute treatment or 2 x 15 minute treatments from a choice including: reflexology, therapeutic touch, reiki, massage, manicure, ion foot bath, head massage, tarot, facial massage and allergy elimination. 2 vendors will also be there - Silpada jewellery and Xocai - healthy chocolate. There will also be draws with wellness and beauty prizes being on offer.

2012 will see the society turn 60 and the volunteer group intend to celebrate this milestone as much as possible. “2012 will be a year that the society won’t forget for a long time,” says Mary Hughes, Chair of the event committee. “We have decided that for a big birthday, we need to produce a big production and you can’t get much bigger than Rodgers and Hammerstein’s ‘Carousel”. The spa event will help with the funding of the production and the hard work that our volunteers put into each show.
