Carol Joudoin, in red, leads a team of ladies through a workout on the patented TRX machine.  Joudoin and a group of three instructors are certified to teach resistance training using the apparatus that was originally designed by the Marines, that is exclusive to the Goodlife franchise.

Curves caters to what women need

Curves is one of the front runners and innovators for women’s fitness facilities across the globe.  With over 1,100 locations, worldwide, Curves has built upon the success of founders Gary and Diane Heavin over the past 20 years.

Curves began with a specific goal, ‘to remove the barriers that kept women from going to the gym’.  A women’s only gym is geared towards making the clients feel at home and comfortable during their workout.  They have several programs in place to give customers a great workout, in a relaxed atmosphere, in an efficient time, something that is very important in today’s hectic world.

Curves weight management program, as well as their personalized circuits and new Circuit with Zumba programs, give women the means and confidence to achieve their fitness goals.

Curves opened in Brockville at the Shopping Centre in 1999, and moved to their current location on 40 Brock Street in 2004.  “This building has been a godsend for us”, said location Manager Lynnsay Villeneuve.

Curves has always taken an active interest in the community.  The Brockville chapter has an annual food drive in April, which is part of Curves International’s global effort to help area food banks.  The benefactor of the Brockville chapter is Loaves and Fishes, who will receive the bulk of the donations from this year’s drive.
